We are extremely fortunate to be supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation which allows us to recognise the efforts of our young people. We cannot thank the Foundation enough for allowing us to run this scheme. The winners' Award money is used to fund extra activities, invite visiting choreographers or to purchase items for our group which would not be possible without the Jack Petchey support. This year the Award Winners have chosen to invite visiting choreographers and provide new costumes for our performances.

This term the Jack Petchey Award was nominated by EDT Staff. The Award Winner is Kate Elliott

KATE IS A STUDENT WHO STARTED AT EDT RELATIVELY LATE AT THE AGE OF FOURTEEN.

SHE HAS WORKED EXTREMELY HARD TO IMPROVE HER TECHNICAL LEVEL AND HAS PUT THIS TO GOOD USE IN HER OWN CHOREOGRAPHY BOTH AT SCHOOL FOR GCSE DANCE AND AT EDT IN OUR STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY EVENT.

KATE IS OFTEN TO BE FOUND PRACTISING INDEPENDENTLY TO ACHIEVE HER GOALS AND HAS BEEN A GREAT ASSET TO EDT BRENTWOOD.

The EDT tutors and guest choreographers all feel that Kate has made huge improvement over the past year, brought about by hard work and determination.

JACK PETCHEY AWARD WINNER

Autumn Term 2015
Grace Wilkins

This term the Jack Petchey Award was nominated by the students themselves. Grace was nominated by very many of her peers, who obviously see her hard work, determination, enthusiasm and great personality!

Grace is totally involved in every aspect of EDT Brentwood as can be seen from the many hours she attends. Grace is passionate about dance and this is apparent in her own classes and also in the help she provides voluntarily on Saturdays as a student teacher.

Grace's classmates have recognised the work she puts in, her spirit and willingness to share her knowledge and love of dance with others.

The EDT tutors and guest choreographers all feel that Grace has made huge improvement over the past year, brought about by a good work ethic and emerging sense of maturity. Grace deserves this award for the devotion she shows to her dancing and for being an asset to EDT (Brentwood). Well done Grace. Keep it up!

CONGRATULATIONS

Roanne Wilkins has been awarded an adult Leader Award for her contribution to Essex Dance Theatre, Brentwood
Roanne was nominated by Senior Performers who have appreciated the time, effort and enthusiasm she puts into EDT.
Roanne organises the sale of uniform (new and second hand), organises costuming for many of the show dances, chaperones at fetes and all week at the show. She has most recently set up the "Friends of Brentwood Performing Group", which is a fantastic opportunity for our dancers to have more opportunities in the future. Roanne has also co-ordinated the ordering of our much awaited Hoodies!!!
In recognition of her Leader Award, we will now be able to apply for a project grant from Jack Petchey for next year. Any ideas of what you would like would be most welcome.

Well done and thank you to Roanne for all her hard (voluntary) work!

YOUNG ACHIEVERS

FRANCESCA GOMEZ- Francesca has impressed us with her full out delivery in rehearsals and choreography workshops - giving the younger A Team dancers someone to aspire to. This is helping to raise the general standard of the whole group.

CHARLOTTE BAYLIS - Charlotte has moved into the A team this year and has danced with energy and commitment during rehearsals. She has focused and really coped well with the harder choreography.

OLIVIA SHERRIFF - Olivia is a quiet young lady who works consistently hard. She has continued to beaver away this year and has put herself outside her "comfort zone" by pushing her Performance Skills.

RHIANNON MUNSON-HOBBS - LEADER AWARD
For her outstanding contribution to the running of EDT Brentwood and all that she brings to it!
